The task was to recreate the front page of The War of the Worlds in a way that pays homage to the original while incorporating my own creative interpretation. The challenge was to capture the essence of the novel, with its sci-fi theme, while designing flyers that draw attention and convey the dramatic tone of the story.
I approached this project by blending classic design elements with a modern touch. For the front page, I focused on using bold typography and dramatic imagery to reflect the intensity of the novel. I created custom illustrations to capture key scenes and themes of the story, ensuring that the design felt both contemporary and fitting to the book’s classic nature. The flyers were designed with similar visual cues, offering a cohesive look across both pieces.
The final result is a striking visual representation of The War of the Worlds that remains true to the novel’s themes while showing my personal design style. The front page and flyers both serve as engaging promotional pieces, ready for digital or print use, and reflect the book’s adventurous and intense atmosphere.
This project taught me the importance of brand consistency across various materials. Creating a logo that felt professional yet approachable was a key challenge. I focused on blending traditional barbering elements with a modern touch, ensuring the design was both timeless and fresh. The appointment card and flyers had to be functional while maintaining visual appeal. Overall, I’m happy with the outcome, as it successfully communicates the shop's identity and creates a cohesive, welcoming brand experience.
